Confucius Institutes Exposed

Chinese Communist Party (CCP) spends a fortune on setting
up Confucius Institutes (CI) and courses around the world.
Nowadays, more and more people dislike CI, because
they realize this is part of the CCP’s united front policy,
which jeopardizes academic freedom in CI and it is
even anti-human rights in the name of Confucius.

In July 2011, a petition with more than 4,000 signatures was
presented to the Australian New South Wales (NSW) senate.
It requested to cancel Confucius courses in seven schools.

The petition reads: “CI is controlled by the CCP’s Education
Department directly.
It is not allowed to discuss the Tiananmen Massacre, Tibet,
human rights in China, Taiwan, Falun Dafa and
other sensitive topics. This is very strange.
What teachers will teach and what values NSW takes
should not be decided by a foreign government.
And the courses should never be filled
with political propaganda. ”

Former CCP diplomat Chen Yonglin, who has defected
from the Chinese Embassy in Sydney, Australia, in 2005,
said that CCP provided more than AUD200,000
to the NSW Education Department,
in order to introduce Confucius courses in its primary
and high schools. CCP provides free Chinese education
and all teachers are appointed by the CCP.

Its purpose is to expand the CCP’s influence overseas.
Chen: “The influence overseas is mainly to penetrate into and
influence the mainstream society, by using culture.
This can be called a kind of cultural penetration.
It wants to delude western world with CI. It’s its strategy.”
According to Canadian Maclean’s magazine,
CCP founded a least eight CI in Canadian schools.
Famous Canadian human rights lawyer Clive Ansley said,
the compulsory rules of CI’s are against human rights in Canada.
The official CI website says, all Chinese teachers in CI’s
must have no record of participating in Falun Dafa activities.
Falun Dafa (Falun Dafa) is a meditation practice, abiding by
the principles of ‘Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.”

Amnesty International points out that CCP bans Falun Dafa,
arrests and kills Falun Dafa practitioners since 1999.
Professors at University of Manitoba, Canada are worried
that the CCP-funded CI’s threatens academia and ideology.
Canadian human rights lawyer David Matas was nominated
for 2010 Nobel Peace Prize.

He joined the investigation of organ harvesting from live
Falun Dafa practitioners by the CCP.
He warned that a college with a CI is easier to give in
under CCP’s pressure than average colleges.
Chen Yonglin said that CI’s are a part of CCP’s plan
to promote simplified Chinese characters
and eradicate the traditional Chinese used by Taiwan
which is a suffocation of the Chinese traditional culture.
Chen: “As a model of Chinese democracy, Taiwan uses
traditional Chinese characters.

CCP founds CI’s all over the world, so as to use simplified
Chinese to compete with traditional Chinese characters.
All Chinese characters taught by the CCP are simplified.

Simplified Chinese characters in themselves are
a way to weaken the traditional Chinese culture.”
The author Xia Lin compared the exported CI’s by CCP to
poisoned food. He wrote that CCP exports CI’s massively.
The CCP’s goal is not to promote the traditional Confucianism,
nor to introduce to the West the modern Chinese society,
which is short of morals and has fake goods everywhere.

It uses Confucius as its cover to sell its party culture…
These “poison” poured over human spirit and Chinese culture
are covered tactfully in the name of Confucius.
Their effect is similar to the tainted foods
exported by mainland China to the West.
