June 4th: CCP Police and Armed Forces on High Alert

The Tiananmen Massacre remains a sensitive topic in China
while calls for the vindication of the 6.4 movement continues.
This year, Hong Kong’s 6.4 memorial activity expects
180,000 participants—the highest record in over 23 years.
In contrast, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s official
media keeps silent, without any mention of “6.4”.
The Tiananmen Square was surrounded by a lot of police,
armed forces and plain-clothes officers.
Beijing’s Tongzhou District—being on high alert—initiated
『wartime work』 and 『defense and control』 systems.

On June 4, Beijing saw active plainclothes officers
and police forces on patrol, throughout the city.

Hu Ping(Chief editor of Beijing Spring): “This shows just
how tense the CCP regime is—in high tension.
Behind such tension is the authorities’ thorough weakness,
which explains why it always stays on high alert for every 6.4.”

Beijing resident, Mr Ge, told Radio Free Asia that there was
an obvious increase in staff on-duty in his residential area.
Petitioner, Mr Zhou, says over 40 police vehicles were
deployed near 『May 1 Square』, with more extra police.

Yet, groups of Shanghai petitioners flocked to Beijing’s
Tiananmen Square to mourn for the 6.4 massacre victims.

Xu Zhengqing(Rights activist in Shanghai): “People went to
Beijing’s major public areas, like Tiananmen Square,
to express their inner feelings and thoughts.

Some Shanghai petitioners also went to Zhao Ziyang’s
old residence to mourn for him—a few days ago, I was one of them.”

Since the end of May, China has seen more active and open
activities emerging nationwide, in memory of the 6.4 event.
Compared with previous years, petitioners are the highlight.

On June 4, in 『People』s Square’ in downtown Shanghai,
four local petitioners-Du Yangming, Shen Peilan,
Wang Kouma and Tong Guojing, held banners reading
“Don’t forget 6.4”, protesting against the CCP regime.

Xu Zhengqing: “Lots of people with a vision are awakening
now, with varied ways to commemorate 6.4 and to mourn the dead martyrs of the massacre.
I hope the top authorities could bow to the public’s desire—
rehabilitating the 6.4 as soon as possible.”

Hu Ping says that the term “6.4” has become synonymous
with “fighting for freedom and democracy".
『6.4』 represents all of the Chinese victims who sacrificed
their lives for freedom and democracy, and all those
Chinese who are longing for freedom and democracy;
as well as decades of tyranny of the CCP has a liquidation.

Hu Ping: " 6.4 refers to the CCP authorities’ massacre
of peaceful civilians, with machine guns and tanks.
This is an atrocity definitely intolerable to humanity—
It’s a real case proving the CCP regime’s unlawfulness.
No matter how the people call it—to “rehabilitate”

or to “reverse the verdict” or to “vindicate”—all these terms
imply openly denying the legitimacy of this murderous regime."

On the afternoon of June 3, Beijing suffered a drastic
weather change—a storm brewed with thunder and lightning
and hailstones fell near Tiananmen Square.

June 4—China’s share benchmark, Shanghai Composite
Index fell 64.89 points, matching the figure of June 4, 1989.

Xu Zhengqing: “At that sensitive moment, Beijing poured
with heavy rain and China’s stock investors noticed the
bizarre figure; an amazing figure— telling us, even Heaven
can’t tolerate things like the 6.4 massacre still happening.”

In 1989, a patriotic “democracy movement" broke out
in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square.
The participants were brutally suppressed by the CCP’s
regular army tanks and machine guns on the night of June 3, causing many deaths and injuries.
Now, 23 years later, none of the relevant CCP ruling leaders
dare stand up to shoulder the blame for the 6.4 massacre.
