Google Chairman: ‘CCP Firewall will Collapse’

Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt has said
in a recent interview that the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) firewall will collapse.
Schmidt said free information will penetrate China,
and will bring along political and social freedom.
Critics said the ever present CCP internet police will
be brought to justice once the CCP steps down.

Recently, U.S Foreign Affairs reported that Schmidt,
Chairman of Google, said China is still a locked country.
The CCP is not ashamed of that.

He said that once the firewall collapsed,
free information will change China fundamentally.

Hu Jung from Rights Movement said the collapse
of the CCP firewall will be part of a natural course.

Hu Jun: “We have entered the information era.

The development of the economy
is a development of culture and knowledge.
If the CCP want to increase domestic consumption,
they need to stop the suppression of free information.
If not, they are breaking their own necks."

Recently, US media warned about
the risks of the Chinese economy.
On July 4, The Wall Street Journal published
the ‘Myth of China’s Fast Growing is Ending’.
It stated that China’s GDP will drop to 8%,
then reduce further.

Schmidt said that a modern knowledge society
couldn’t be built on internet censorship.
However, no one knows when China will change.
He believes in the long run, it will end.

Hu Jun: “A dictatorship power relies on lies, covering truth,
and cutting off connections between people.
When lies are seen through, and the truth is revealed, and
people talk to each other, the regime can’t exist anymore."

Li Jincheng, a Chinese dissident was detained
for 72 days for organizing a demonstration.
He has been spreading software
to break through the firewall.
He said the quick spread of the software
undermined the CCP’s censorship.

Li Jincheng,"Fire-wall breaking software includes
FreeGate and UltraSurf, which make the firewall fail.
FreeGate is an excellent tool to bypass the firewall.

I hope Google can add firewall breaking
functions to their browser."

In 2010, Google stopped filtering search results,
and ended its cooperation with the CCP.
Schmidt said after moving
to Hong Kong, the CCP retaliated.
Some mainland Chinese activists
email accounts were hacked.

Li Jincheng’s email was also attacked.

Li Jincheng:"I am now using Google Hong Kong.

You can only see the title, but cannot open certain content.
You have to use breaking-through software."

Schmidt said the evidence shows that China’s first priority
is industrial theft, to get some commercial secrets.
Human rights are the second one.

He said the two purposes was verified by Google,
but he believed the CCP did many other bad things.

In early June, Australian media reported that in order to
prevent internet spies, the Defense Minister
Stephen Smith left his mobile phone and computer
in Hong Kong before he visited China.

Recently, Google has taken appropriate
measures towards China’s censorship.
Google will help users to analyze the risks from hackers
and remind users if the information is censored by the CCP.

Hu Jun points out that the CCP monitors
dissidents as a priority job.
Hu said that the CCP’s internet police were
everywhere, but he is also recording their crimes.
Once the dictatorial control was ended, their crimes
will be exposed, and justice towards them starts.
