【新唐人2014年02月27日訊】港《明報》前總編輯遇襲 震驚各界
香港《明報》前總編輯劉進圖，2月26號在香港街頭，遭到不明身份的兇手襲擊，被砍6刀，緊急送醫院搶救後，目前已經沒有生命危險。
劉進圖遇襲事件震驚香港各界，也引起全球新聞界和學界的反響，多個國際通訊社和知名報社，包括《美聯社》、《法新社》、《紐約時報》、《華爾街日報》等，紛紛發表圖文報導和評論。
台灣《中央社》報導說，劉進圖遇襲事件是香港新聞界遭遇的最嚴重事件，如果涉及政治因素，香港恐怕會從新聞自由倒退到半自由或不自由的地步。
劉進圖，他上個月剛剛被免去的《明報》總編職務，由一名親北京人士接任。
駱家輝發表告別演講
即將離任的美國駐中國大使駱家輝，2月26號在北京的美國中心發表告別演講，強調中國的未來取決於司法獨立和言論自由。他對中國學生說，中共領導人「不應該為短期維穩而犧牲公民參與帶來的長期成果。」
駱家輝還在演講中呼籲中共當局﹕「更平等對待」外國記者。
據美國駐中國大使館透露，駱家輝將於3月1號離開北京。
世維會譴責中共對伊力哈木控罪
北京維族學者伊力哈木•土赫提，日前被中共當局以「分裂國家」的罪名正式逮捕。流亡海外的維吾爾組織「世界維吾爾代表大會」表示，這個控罪「完全是不可接受的」。
「世維會」發言人迪裡夏提說：「分裂國家的指控，是中共壓制政治異見者的藉口。」
兩會前 胡佳再被傳喚要求禁聲
北京維權人士胡佳，2月25號再次被警方傳喚，警方以調查「尋釁滋事」的理由帶走胡佳。經過8個小時的訊問後，胡佳獲釋。
胡佳表示，在中共「兩會」即將召開的敏感時間點，當局繼續通過傳喚和軟禁的方式要他噤聲。不過，胡佳說，他做不到。
胡佳表示，這次他被傳喚的原因，還與最近烏克蘭的局勢有關，另外還包括他在網路上呼籲大家「六四重返天安門」，以及動員大家圍觀「新公民運動」庭審，和號召民眾帶口罩到天安門抗議北京霧霾等有關。

Hong Kong “Ming Pao" Former Chief Editor’s Attack
On February 26, Hong Kong Ex-Ming Pao editor Lau Chun
was hospitalized after a 6 knife attack by an unidentified
murderer in the street. He is out of danger now.
Lau Chun’s attack shocked the Hong Kong community and
produced a global reaction from the international media and
academic world.
A number of famous international news agencies and
newspapers including AP, AFP, The New York Times,
Wall Street Journal, etc. have published graphic reports
and comments.
Taiwan’s Central News Agency reported that Lau Chun’s
attack is the most serious problem in the Hong Kong press.
If it involves political factors, the Hong Kong press will
be back from the free to semi-free or non-free.
Lau Chun was replaced by a pro-Beijing person from
Ming Pao into the editor position last month.
Gary Locke Will Give a Farewell Speech
The outgoing U.S. Ambassador to China Gary Locke gave a
farewell speech on February 26th at the Beijing U.S. Center.
He stressed that China’s future will depend on judicial
independence and freedom of speech.
He told the Chinese students that Chinese leaders should not
sacrifice long-term outcomes of citizen participation just for
the short-term maintenance of stability."
Locke also called on the Chinese authorities to be more fair
to the foreign reporters.
The U.S. Embassy in China revealed that Locke will leave
Beijing on March 1.
World Uyghur Congress Condemns China’s Charge on Ilham
Beijing Uyghur scholar Ilham.Tohti was formally arrested
by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on charges of
secession recently.
The exiled Uyghur group World Uyghur Congress (WUC) said
the charge is totally unacceptable.
The spokesman of WUC Dilshat said: “Secession is the CCP’s
excuse to suppress the political dissidents."
Hu Jia Abducted by Police Prior to The Annual Parliament
Beijing activist Hu Jia was again summoned by the police on
February 25.
The police abducted him on account of “provocation".
He was released 8 hours after the interrogation.
Hu Jia said it was a way to keep him quiet prior to the annual
Parliament meeting of the regime. But, he said, “No way".
Hu Jia believed his summons was related to the recent
Ukraine protest.
His online post called on people to “return to Tiananmen
Square", to sit in on the trial of the New Citizens Movement,
and to protest about the smog issue at Tiananmen Square.
