New York Times: Conflicting Versions of The Kunming Incident

On March 5, state-run media reported that Li Keqiang broke into
condemnation of the attackers in the Kunming Incident during his
work report at the Communist Parliamentary meetings.

Li Keqiang did not mention the formally characterized so-called
“Xinjiang separatists",
but only emphasized “the violent crime that challenged the bottom
line of human civilization" and “violent terrorists" in his more than
one minute improvised speech.

Meanwhile,international media correspondents gave
differing versions of events from that of the official claim of
the Kunming Incident.

see the report.

“The New York Times’ Beijing correspondent, Andrew Jacobs,
quoted a source in the review article titled, ‘Opposing Narratives
in Piecing Together Kunming Attackers’ Motives’ said: “recently, the Uyghur are increasingly at odds with the nation’s
ethnic Han majority.

These attackers may have been driven to desperation after
their attempts to leave China were thwarted at the country’s
border with Laos."

“In recent months, more than 100 Uyghurs have been shot
and killed by the police in skirmishes that the authorities
have called ‘terror attacks’,

but the exiled groups say are little more than extrajudicial killings,”
said the article.

The article adds: “But exile groups and human rights advocates
say the government also exaggerates the threat of Islamic-inspired
violence and brands even Uyghur dissidents as separatists."

Beijing social activist Hu Jia: “The Uyghurs can be easily labeled as
Xinjiang separatists because of their faith and demands.
Once guilt is established; they will be in prison or even
eradicated.
In this case, the Uyghur could not survive and had to flee and
hide outside.
As I know it’s hard for Uyghur and Tibetans to get a passport. “

On March 6, Chinese Communist Party Secretary of the Uyghur
Autonomous Region, Zhang Chunxian said;
in the Xinjiang delegation discussion of the parliamentary meetings
that no tolerance, only crackdown of terrorists can be applied.
But he denied that the crackdown has caused the frequent violence in
Xinjiang that is spreading to Beijing, Kunming and other areas
outside Xinjiang.

Andrew Jacobs reported that: “In recent years, scores of Uyghurs
seeking to flee the country have been captured at China’s border
with Southeast Asia and sent back home for punishment.”

Hu Jia: “For Tibetans and Uyghur, religious freedom is
often suppressed.
I believe it’s possible for them to flee this country."

China social problem researcher Zhang Jian: “What turned
them into such a process of ruining themselves and destroying
others?

While condemning violence, we must dig into the problems of
the CCP: In the issues of Xinjiang and Tibet,
On the one hand, they deprived minorities of the right to practice
religion and then migrated a large number of Han Chinese to
grab limited resources as CCP’s property on the other hand."

Zhang Chunxian also said that “90% of Xinjiang violence is
because the terrorist accessed the blocked website over the firewall."

Zhang Jian: “That means that the worldly people are terrorists except
for those people from China, North Korea and Iran imprisoned by
the firewall.

All people are free to browse the Internet information, why can’t
Chinese people?
If all Chinese people can freely browse the outside world, they
might know the value of democracy and freedom.
I believe that the CCP will self destruct rather than by rampant
terrorism in China."

Beijing activist Hu Jia said that much information is being
blocked because the Chinese authorities control the political
and legal departments.

Hu said that current officials, not able to nutralize the
CCP’s policy, have to continue to be the executioner
of the CCP’s blood and iron policy.

Zhang Jian: “All malignant tumors derived from this one-party
dictatorship.
There is no freedom to think, to speak nor to have beliefs.

Under such a system, which conducts live organ harvesting
from innocent Falun Gong practitioners, the CCP is the largest
terrorist organization.”

Hu Jia said the Chinese people have been swallowing the bitter
penalty of the CCP’s crimes.
The Communist regime will further strengthen its stability
maintenance and high-handed tactics based on the Kunming
incident, And create more contradictions and bloody deaths.

In the end, the people become the targets of the violent terrorists
and then die unjustly in further bloodletting.
