Xinjiang’s Explosions Cause Military Casualties

Three explosions took place in Luntai county of Xinjiang
recently.

Witnesses confirmed that at least a dozen people were killed
in the blast which caused much panic to local residents.

Xinjiang insider revealed that the blast was not targeting civilians,
but aimed at the authorities.

The official media seemed to deliberately play down the
explosions. After a vague and brief report, the relevant news
was blocked and removed.

The authorities have made no comment about the blasts.

Xinjiang media outlet, www.ts.cn, reported that explosions took
place at 17 o’clock on Sept. 21 in three places of Luntai,
leading to 2 deaths and many injuries.

Radio Free Asia quoted witnesses claiming that around 30 people
were killed in just one explosion at Yangxiazhen of Luntai.

Internet users also revealed that posts were seen by many
witnesses soon after the explosion occurred, but all were blocked
by the authorities.

Xinjiang official website did not release the brief report
until the morning of the 22nd.

But, quickly, that post was also deleted.

NTD reporters tried to call Luntai locals but none of them
dared to answer questions for fear of suppression.

Even residents close to the explosion would not dare to say much.

NTD reporter: “Wasn’t there an explosion at Lufeng
Commercial Building this Sunday? Do you know that?"

Hotel owner at Luntai: “I know!"

Reporter: “You saw it? At the scene?"

Owner: “No. We weren’t allowed to go in, can’t see it.
I heard them saying it."

Reporter: “Have you heard the explosion?"

Owner: “I did not. But my sister heard it."

Reporter: “Any injury to the civilians then?"

Owner: “Yeah! It was big, the sound. It affected many places!"

An informed source revealed to NTD that at least two explosions
were directed at the organs of public security and the armed forces.

Among the many deaths were the CCP armed or police officers.
Many were seriously injured. The death toll was at least in the teens.

The authorities immediately blocked the Internet and mobile
phones to prevent leakage of the information.

Critics believe the explosions were targeting officials,
not the general public.

World Uyghur Congress spokesman Dilshat Reshit: “For a very
long time, the regime has consistently intensified the
suppression and surveillance in Shache County and Luntai Couty.

The CCP’s policy at Xinjiang has created the fierce resistance
from individuals who defend their rights and dignity.

Some local unrests are directly related to the CCP policy.

I think the CCP ought to wake up from its
“suppression to maintain stability".

The Uyghur’s demands should be faced with only sincerity
and a change of policy."

Coincidentally, on the day of the explosions, the CCP announced
the punishment of the relevant officials when previous attacks
took place.

There were a total of 17 officials, including the county party
secretary and public security director, punished with removal
from Party posts, demotion and a serious warning.

But commentators indicate, these officials have been punished
to appease public resentment.

Dilshat Reshit: “I think this is how the CCP shirk
its responsibility for one, and to cover up the casualties
in Shache explosions for the other.

To punish these grassroots administrative cadres, they shirk
their own mistakes in policy and the many discontents
among the people."

Some media have analyzed, that since the implementation
of the high-handed policy in Xinjiang, at least 10 violent incidents
have taken place in just 2013, killing at least 130 people.
