The CCP Still Refuses to Break the Taboo of Organ Harvesting Issue

The Paper (thepaper.cn) quoted a CCTV report on Jan. 12
which again discussed the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP)
vow of stopping organ harvesting from executed prisoners
beginning Jan. 1, 2015.
However, the report still remained silent about another
organ source, illegally imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners,
though under heavy questioning and condemnation
by the world.
Human rights lawyers commented that blood
is hidden behind the silence.

Last December, former CCP Vice Minister of Health
Huang Jiefu announced in a domestic seminar that
authorities would stop organ harvesting from
executed prisoners.
The Paper (thepaper.cn) consequently published an article
titled “The Story behind Stopping Organ Harvesting of
the Executed."

The article admitted that organ harvesting from executed
prisoners for transplantation had long been a taboo
for party mouthpieces.

Huang Jiefu uncovered the fact for the first time in 2005.
Following that, the CCP claimed it had been working on
establishing a legal framework on transplantation
until stopping harvesting organs from the executed.
“These moves show the authority’s determination
of reform," claimed by the Paper’s article.

However, International organizations and human rights
lawyers do not agree with the article.
They pointed out that the biggest taboo about China’s
organ source had never been touched on by the CCP.

World Organization to Investigate the Persecution
of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) spokesman Wang Zhiyuan:
“WOIPFG conducted a phone survey with more than 1000
transplantation surgeons all over China between
last March and August.

We found that there were still a large number of organ
transplantations ongoing.
More importantly, the organ sources
were Falun Gong practitioners."

Theresa Chu, member of Human Rights Lawyer Group
for Falun Gong: “As long as the CCP refuses to acknowledge
organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, the global
society would not trust its vow to stop using organs
of executed prisoners.

Huang Jiefu never explained to the world where the 500
organs for his liver transplantation operations were from.
In such a situation, one can hardly believe what he said."

The 500 organs mentioned by Theresa Chu
is what Huang openly told media in 2013.
Huang said, he had committed more than 500 liver
transplant operations himself in 2012.

The CCP’s persecution against Falun Gong began in 1999.

In 2006, for the first time two sources who go by the aliases
Annie and Peter, uncovered how the CCP harvested organs
from live Falun Gong practitioners in labor camps
on a massive scale.
Annie’s ex-husband had committed the harvesting
operation and Peter was a media worker.

Since then, the CCP has never openly touched the issue
despite investigation and heavy criticism by the world.

Huang Jiefu admitted that, according to The Paper’s report,
the global society had followed principles of
“No Acceptance, No Publication and No Collaboration"
in response to the CCP’s non-transparent organ sources.
Any papers regarding organ transplantation by Chinese
researchers, including clinical ones, cannot be published
by prestigious international journals.

Chinese scholars cannot present their work about China’s
organ transplantation in any global conference or seminar.

The Paper claimed that these principles aim
to “demonize" China.
Prof. Chen Yanling from Mind-Body Medical University
told NTD from her own experience that, Chinese doctors
are not allowed to present their research work outside
China simply because they are unable to face charges
of live organ harvesting.

Prof. Chen Yanling, Mind-Body Medical University:
“Many Chinese doctors once attended a transplantation
conference at Boston.

They planned to present their work as introduced on posters.

However, after Falun Gong practitioners filed complaints,
those people took down their posters from wall.
After that, I saw one person leading the whole group
to leave the conference."

In 2015, the CCP still avoids talking about live organ
harvesting issues.
Lawyer Theresa Chu commented that bloody smells
are hidden behind the silence.

Theresa Chu: “Our survey and research show that before
the CCP admits to the criminal fact of live organ harvesting,
it will likely silence involved party members, officials
or surgeons by killing them.
It will probably destroy evidence and commit
internal purging as well."

Theresa Chu is a member of Human Rights Lawyer Group
for Falun Gong.
The group announced on Jan. 13 that, “For individuals
involved in live organ harvesting with conscience
and still seeking relief from the crime, we suggest
they contact us and uncover all the hidden truth.
We will try out best to help you out."
